Oh yes, he had forgotten to explain that, hadn't he? "All Pokemon, regardless of their size, can fit into a Pokeball. In a way, it somewhat shrinks us down and the inside of the ball his much bigger than the outside. Its...kind of hard to explain just how it works, but it is sort of like our own little world inside." Being that he was a Pokemon, he actually knew of this first hand, or so it seemed. "It is how trainers conveniently travel with their Pokemon, as some Pokemon, specifically Pokemon of the water, have trouble traveling on land, and vice-versa. Each ball is only linked to one Pokemon unless that Pokemon is released."
While he explained this, he had hopped off of the machine and reached into a box next to it. He nearly fell in but, after a moment, he was holding a satchel. "There are some supplies in here, as well as a bit of money in order to get you started. It also contains a Pokedex, which like a hand-held computer that holds information on all Pokemon seen or captured by trainers in this region's Pokedex network. Every trainer that has received a Pokemon at this laboratory is part of the network and they help us gather information on Pokemon for our research through their all of their Pokedex."

"Sounds very convenient, for both the trainer and the Pokemon."
It was a sobering thought, though. If the Pokemon (her Pokemon, she reminded herself) was unaware of what was going on in the outside world when they were inside the Pokeball, anything could happen to them. She would be responsible for their welfare when they were in this state. This wasn't some small bauble that she could accidentally misplace and then replace. She literally held another's life in her hands.
"I'll do my very best ta be a responsible trainer," she said solemnly as she accepted the satchel from Sparky. "And I'll be happy to help ye gather as much information as I can when I travel. It's the least I can do to repay your kindness."
Then her expression lightened, and she smiled at the Pikachu. "Well, I guess I'm off, then. I'll be seein' you again, I hope." She reached down and shook his hand,er, paw, then straightened and turned towards the door.
