"Oh, thank you!" said Dana. "I admit, I was a bit nervous about going around here with only one companion. You're still both quite small, but I think I'll be safer with both of you around!"
"Hey! What do you mean by that! I'm tough!" snapped Mumble.
"Well, you are small, though, compared to Maevia and Alucard...I'm just worried you might not be able to take on larger Pokemon."
"Don't worry," muttered the penguin Pokemon. "There are rarely any evolved Pokemon here. Besides, size matters less in this world."
"Well, that's good to know..." said Dana, then turned back to the Chatot. "So, I just tap you with a Pokeball?" She held one up to illustrate her point.

"He is right," the bird Pokemon replied, looking between Dana and Mumble. It was wise not to underestimate an opponent, regardless of their size. It wasn't often size that mattered, but their level of skill and determination.
"Yep, that's basically how it works. If a wild Pokemon comes in contact with a Pokeball, namely pressing the button, it gets absorbed and possibly captured." The capture rate for each Pokeball was different and it even varied with the different Pokemon, but the Chatot explained the basics.

"Alright," said Dana, reaching out with the Pokeball. She took a deep breath, trying to compose herself. Another companion! And one who would explain things to her, hopefully. After taking a few more deep breaths, she tapped the ball against the Chatot's head. Hopefully, it would succeed. After all, it had agreed to be caught, hadn't it?

The small bird Pokemon flinched ever-so-slightly as Dana pressed the Pokeball against it. Instantly, the ball opened up and a bright red light spilled from it. It surrounded the Pokemon quickly, the Chatot vanishing inside, and the Pokeball closing again. The button on the ball blinked red several times, even making a strange beeping noise, before calming. The capture was completed without a hitch.
Congratulations! Dana caught a Chatot!
