"There's nothing here..." Napey came out of the nearest bush. "Nowhere any food!"
"Try climbing up again? Maybe you can find some fruits?" Sheba suggested. Napey nodded and started to climb up the nearest tree.
Bronzy was looking at the lake. Sheba joined him. "Is there something?"
"I don't think so", Bronzy admitted.
"Too bad." Sheba sighed. "Not that I feel like eating some fish and killing it in the first place. Fruits would be so much better."
"We Pokémon like berries." Napey rushed down the tree again. "But I don't know if any grow here and I don't know if humans can even eat them."
Sheba sighed. "No luck up there, either?"
"Nothing." Napey shook his head sadly.

Not all too far where the group had found themselves, there stood a lone apple tree hidden among all the other trees. It wasn't a tree or a bush that grew berries, unfortunately for the Pokemon, but both Pokemon and humans alike could eat apples, right? It would certainly beat eating any fish.

The little group looked around for quite a few more minutes until Bronzy chimed happily, having found the apple tree. Sheba and Napey rushed over.
"Food! Finally, food!" Sheba beamed and Napey climbed up the tree at once, starting to pluck apples and throwing them down where Sheba caught them. After having gathered enough for everyone, Sheba went ahead and washed them in the lake before returning to her Pokémon and calling Glammy and Feary out of their Pokéballs.
"Well, I would have preferred fish, but I suppose it'll have to do", Glammy commented, not really being a fan of apples but eating anyway while Feary especially enjoyed eating the apple seeds everyone else was leaving for her.
"This is good!" Sheba sighed happily. It wasn't exactly her idea of a well-balanced meal, but it definitely beat being hungry. After her fourth apple, she started putting as many as she could into her satchel. "Eat up, everyone. I need to buy a bigger bag for food in the town, we can't exactly take all that many with us." She was still amazed how large her little group had grown in just a single day.
After everyone had finished their meals, Feary decided to go back into her Pokéball, being too weak for flying and not really made for walking while Sheba picked up Glammy. "Is everyone ready to leave? If someone wants to drink some more, now is the time", Sheba reminded her Pokémon and got ready to leave.

Unknowing to Sheba and her rather large group of Pokemon, they were being spied on. The one doing the spying watched them eat the apples that they had picked and watched the human woman stuff several apples into her bag. Its mouth began to water. Just as they were about to leave, the orange and black Caterpie had wandered its way toward Sheba, making sounds that sounded awfully closer to whimpering. The poor dear nudged at her feet gently before looking way up to see her face. Much to its embarrassment, its stomach suddenly gave a rather large growl.

Sheba suddenly found herself nudged and 'eep'ed, surprised, before looking down and spotting the Caterpie. Another Pokémon with unusual colors! Was this a common occurance in this region? Then again, Glammy had said something about escaping from a lab...
She then heard the little Pokémon's stomach growl and smiled. Putting down Glammy, she sat down next to the Caterpie. "Are you hungry, you poor thing?" She opened her satchel and got out two of the apples, waving at Napey, who immediately understood and rushed back to the tree to get more apples. "Here you go, eat as much as you want."
Glammy eyed the Caterpie with interest indeed. "Hey, did you escape from the laboratory as well?", he asked curiously.

The Caterpie nodded its head up and down when Sheba asked if it was hungry. Clearly, it was, even though it had been a little ashamed to admit it. It had tried to climb the apple tree, it had, but it didn't have too much luck, even with its suction cup feet.
Digging into the apples right away, it didn't take all that long for the bug Pokemon to completely devour one of the apples that Sheba had offered it. When it was done, it burped quietly. "Excuse me," it said promptly, feeling embarrassed again.
After a short moment, it looked up at Sheba, "Thank you," it added, attempting to smile. If only it was easy for a Caterpie to do such a thing.
Then, finally, it managed to answer Glammy's question, "If you are referring to The Muse Laboratory, then yes. I... don't believe we've met?" It eyed the oddly colored Glameow, knowing that there were several Glameow that had the same coloration that had escaped the lab. It just didn't have the chance to meet this particular one.

"You're quite welcome", Sheba smiled down at the little Pokémon. She had always liked bug Pokémon, finding them underappreciated by most other trainers and therefore being used to care for quite a few of them.
"No, I don't think we've had the pleasure", Glammy responded to the question directed at him. "However, it is nice to see that more of us got out." He sat down on Sheba's lap. "I've found myself a trainer so that no one can catch and bring me back there." He was quite pleased when Sheba started to pet him. "Even though I got quite beaten up in the process."
"The Muse Laboratory?" Sheba asked. That obviously wasn't Maevia's lab. "Doesn't really sound like a nice place", she decided. Epic. Here she was, stuck in an unknown region and the third location she heard about was some scary laboratory? "Is this close to here? I don't think I accidently want to stumble across it..."
Napey brought more apples and Sheba filled her satchel up again. "What are your plans now, little one?" she asked. She already had so many Pokémon now, but if the little Caterpie wanted to get away from the laboratory and it obviously wasn't really able to get by on its own, she would gladly take it with her.

The odd-looking Caterpie shook its head. "Nay, it is not near here," it said. It had traveled a long ways away from the laboratory in hopes to remain a free Pokemon or to find a proper trainer. It had similar goals to the Glameow, indeed, which it felt a slight pang of jealousy toward. "The Muse Laboratory and The Mystic Laboratory are supposed to be on good terms, from what I have heard. It is just that the lab that we escaped from doesn't give out Pokemon to trainers, at least not often, and many of us escaped in order to take matters into our own... hands."
"Like all the others, it is my goal to find a trainer," it said, confirming what Sheba had thought it would probably say. "This is... strange to ask... but... might I go with you?" This particular trainer seemed to be dreadfully kind. Why would it not want to join her?

Sheba breathed a sigh of relief, even though hearing that Maevia was on good terms with the other laboratory made it seem less scary already. "I see." She stroked Glammy's fur. "You are actively seeking trainers, huh?" She laughed. "I never wanted to become a trainer because I couldn't stand the thought of Pokémon fighting and getting hurt. But now I've met so many of you and you actually are searching for trainers...this is so different from what I've imagined Pokémon would be thinking. I'm really happy I'm able to understand all of you in this region."
Smiling, Sheba took out a Pokéball - she had actually thought of separating the ones which had Pokémon in them already from the empty ones with a few apples - and nodded at the Caterpie. "We'd all be happy to have you come with us, if that's really your wish. I'd be honored to call you my friend."

The little Caterpie wiggled its tail in delight as Sheba confirmed that she was willing to accept it onto her team of Pokemon. "Thank you," it said, sounding a good bit excited by the turn of events. It eyed the pokeball in the trainer's hand, awaiting for her to either throw it or set it down so that it could enter it freely.
"We may enjoy being wild, but compare it to having a good trainer," it suggested, once it thought over what Sheba had said once more. "Look how well we get taken care of. Look at all the friends we make. Don't you think it's worth it?"

Sheba set the Pokéball down next to the Caterpie, hoping it could enter it without her having to throw it at the cute, little Pokémon. She smiled at the new friend she was about to make. "You're right, I think I can see that now. I'm only traveling through this region as a trainer since a day and I've already made so many friends. Being a trainer has been good for me so far and I hope for my Pokémon, too." She looked around and saw her Pokémon nodding or, in Bronzy's case, happily chiming in the air. "I'll take good care of you, too."
"Can you get in the Pokéball this way?" she asked the Caterpie. "I don't particulary feel like throwing it at you because I'm sure it must hurt to get that thing smacked against your head."

The little Caterpie smiled, in its own little way. It believed Sheba's words.
"Yes, I can," it confirmed. It then promptly bonked its head very gently against the center button of the pokeball. The pokeball popped opened instantly and sucked the odd Caterpie inside in a red light without any fuss or fight. The ball wiggled and flashed for a moment before it stopped and calmed entirely.
Congratulations! Sheba caught a Caterpie!

Sheba picked up the Pokéball and immediately let the small Caterpie out again. "That went well", she smiled. It was so nice to have caught a Pokémon without knocking it out first. "Are you alright?"
"Yes, I'm fine." The Caterpie nodded. "I'm so happy I have a trainer now!"
"And we're glad to have you! These are Napey, Bronzy and Glammy. We also have a Spearow named Feary with us, but she isn't in the best condition right now."
"And as you can tell, our trainer isn't really good at naming", Napey added. "So if you don't want to get called something embarrassing, quickly suggest a name yourself!"
"Ha ha." Sheba playfully nudged Napey with her foot. "But yes, is there a name you'd like?"
The Caterpie thought about it. "Well, I don't want to break a running trend, either", it said. "So...how about 'Pie'? I like pie!"
"Aww, that's such a cute name!" Sheba beamed. "Alright, from now on, you are 'Pie'! See, Napey, all is well."
"Yeeeeah." Napey scratched his head, sometimes feeling like the only sane Pokémon in the group.

"I'm sure Feary will be happy about another girl in the group." Sheba looked at Pie thoughtfully. "Pie, think you can keep up with us?"
"I...don't really think so", Pie admitted. "I'm not the fastest girl in the world."
"That's alright." Sheba knelt down so that Pie could crawl up her arm and settle down on her shoulder. "Does that work?"
Pie got as comfortable as she could. "Yes, this is rather nice. But tell me if I get too heavy."
"Aw, you won't, you're really light." Now carrying both Glammy and Pie, Sheba also slung her satchel awkwardly over her free shoulder. Everything and everyone together was rather heavy, though...
"Is everyone ready for departure? No one thirsty or hungry anymore?" Sheba looked around and when no one complained, she started walking again, wanting to reach the town before the end of the day. "Glammy, lead the way."
"Straight ahead I believe." Glammy yawned, throughoutly pleased with getting carried around, even though he still was in pain from his battle. "I'm sure we'll make it today."
"I sure hope so. We're running out of supplies", Sheba nodded. "We definitely need to shop in the town. And then...somehow get new money."

The need for money would certainly be one of the gravest matters from now on. But she had to think about a lot of things. She had so many Pokémon now, if she wanted to train them all, she would need to fight a lot of battles. And if she evened out the levels between them all, they'd only progress slowly and if a stronger Pokémon attacked, they'd all lose.
Sheba bit her bottom lip as she made her way through the forest, deep in thought. She didn't want to leave anyone out of the training but her Pokémon also needed to get stronger, fast. This would pose a problem which would grow the more Pokémon she caught. Considering she had been only doing this for 24 hours and she had already five Pokémon, this would get a pressing matter soon if this pace continued.
As soon as she would have more than six Pokémon, she'd have to leave someone behind. With Maevia, she guessed, even though the Gardevoir had said nothing about these things, but if things were handled here the same way as in the other regions, the Pokémon she couldn't carry with her would probably stay with Maevia.
Who would she leave behind? As soon as her Pokémon would have rested in the Pokémon Center, all would be ready to fight. She had already grown attached to all of them and the thought of sending someone to Maevia, even if only temporary, seemed to reek of betrayal. How did trainers normally handle this? She couldn't even guess.
