It had been a rather pleasant day when Adian started out for the lab. It was only an hour's walk from where he'd been staying. The town had been quiet and Adian had gotten used to it within days. Perhaps it caused the delay in Adian starting out, but no one but Adian really knew. It was because he had been nervous. This was a new region, and he had no idea how he'd gotten there. Of course, he realized sitting around and moping wasn't going to solve anything.
It didn't take him long to learn of the pokemon lab. It was something he had been familiar with long ago. He'd gotten his first pokemon there. But that was way back when. Now it was simply a case of restarting. Adian had gotten used to the idea of starting over the moment he had found himself on the island. It was refreshing.
As Adian began to go through the walk, he found himself getting warmer and warmer. The air quality began to get worse, sticky even. Adian looked up and noticed rain clouds coming in from the far east. "Figures." Adian muttered to himself. He began to pick up his pace, and was able to scuttle into the lab moments before the rain began to fall. Adian rubbed his brow with the back of his hand, hoping to clear most of the sweat from his face. Adian looked around, noticing the lab was no different from any other lab. "Hello? Anyone here?" Adian called out, "I'm here for my first pokemon. Helllloooo?"

Perhaps the lab did not look all that different than any other Pokemon laboratory, save for the doorways that lead from the main room on into other rooms. Maevia also lived at the laboratory, after all. Many of the other rooms reflected this. In fact, most of the second floor was dedicated to housing rather than laboratory activities. "Just a moment please," a feminine voice had responded to Adian's calls from somewhere else inside the lab. Without a moment to spare, a Gardevoir appeared from another room, wearing a brilliant smile on her face. "I apologize," she said, eying Adian carefully. "I had some paperwork that I had to tend to," she explained. "Anyway, welcome to my laboratory. My name is Maevia and I am the professor here. If you're looking for a starting Pokemon, you have certainly came to the right place!"

Adian waited a moment in the door, feeling a tad bit dumb for just standing there and staring off into the big corridor. When he finally heard the feminine voice it caused him to jump. For some reason, Adian had thought that whoever was going to come out was going to be male. "Professor" was such a big title, it seemed like something only a big manly man would hold.
What surprised Adian even more was the fact that it was a pokemon. "Um, hello," Adian said, rather unsure of himself but not wanting to offend, he said her full title, " Professor Maevia."
Fidgeting, Adian tried not to look as unsure as he really was. Was this pokemon honestly going to be the one giving him his starter pokemon? "Yes, I have come for my first pokemon. I would like to see what you have if you don't mind, that is."

"You can just call me Maevia," she said, the friendly smile never leaving her face. She could tell that the young man was unsure of himself, but she didn't comment on it. She didn't want him to feel uncomfortable. "I almost feel a little silly with everyone always wanting to use my title. After all, I was Maevia before I was a professor."
"This way," she gestured with her hand, then turned to walk toward one of the many computers that lined the back wall. It was different than the others, it having a tube and a platform for dispensing Pokeballs. Not wasting a minute, she began to type something in on the computer, and the monitor suddenly displayed a list of Pokemon. Maevia stepped to the side then, allowing the trainer space to look at it for himself. "All of the Pokemon that are currently available are listed right here," she explained.
"Oh. May I ask your name?"

Adian followed the pokemon deeper into the lab. He nodded politely as he spoke. His eyes wandered back and forth over the strange interior. It had not been what Adian had imagined, at all. Still, it was interesting. So many machines worked quietly, lighting up occasionally, and beeping.
As Adian watched Maevia turn on a machine, he almost missed her question. "Oh um, I'm Adian Savage. I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier." He said while scratching the back of his head. "So these are all of the pokemon, huh?" Adian said to himself more so than the professor.
He looked over the list numerous times. He kept coming back to one pokemon in particular. "Charmander." He said, looking towards Maevia. "I would like this Charmander, he seems strong and rather fierce, he would make a good companion."

"Not a problem. It is a pleasure to meet you, Adian," she said with a nod of her head. It seemed that this young man did fairly well at making snap decisions, he coming to his conclusion so quickly. This was good for the both of them, and for whichever Pokemon would end up being his partner. "A Charmander, eh?" she commented, leaning back over the machine again to confirm the trainer's choice in Pokemon.
As she did this, the machine sprang to life, it beeping and several little red lights that decorated it began to blink. In mere seconds, a Pokeball was dispensed onto the machine's platform. "And there you have it," she said, gesturing toward the ball.
At the same time, she moved toward a box near the machine, grabbing up one of the many satchels of supplies. "You're going to need one of these, too. Among your supplies, your Pokedex is also inside. It will register to you automatically when you use it for the first time." Maevia held it out in offering.

Adian couldn't help but be a little amused at how gracefully the pokemon danced through her work. Obviously, she had a lot of experience in doing such things. The machine bleeped and blooped until a pokeball dropped down. Adian took it from the Professor with a bit of wonder. Inside was a pokemon, a Charmander to be exact, Adian's first pokemon. He tucked the pokeball into his belt as he was handed a small bag of supplies.
"Thank you so much for all your help." Adian said, sincere. He hadn't been expecting so much help from the proffesor, in face, he hadn't even been expecting much more than a hello-here-you-go-bye type deal. "I will raise this Charmander well, one day, you will know me as the great champion!" Adian said confidently, as he turned his back towards the pokemon. He looked in the direction of the door, his fingers running restlessly over the pokeball he had just received. "Goodbye for now."
OOC: I suppose this is over, yes? I will start posting in the forest. Time to horde/train some pokemanz. >D
