This...was bizarre. A week ago, Belsavis' sister had disappeared without a word, leaving nothing but a strange note behind that said "Say Goodbye". He'd been crazy with worry, trekking through the woods near their home calling her name. She was good at disappearing, always finding little nooks to hide herself away so she could read in peace, but she only did that for hours at a time, and never overnight.
Then last night, after Jess had been missing for nearly a week, he'd gotten an identical note. He'd turned it in to the police, but like the first note, there were no fingerprints or any other clues to the sender. They'd set a member of the force on watch outside his door, and he'd finally gone to sleep.
When he awoke, he was in the middle of an unfamiliar forest. His initial thoughts weren't filled with worry for himself, but hope that he'd finally figured out where Jess had ended up. He'd run through the woods, calling her name, but although he kept hearing strange whispers, his sister had never answered.
Finally, Belsavis had broken out of the woods and found a large building, the only sign of civilization he'd seen so far. He pushed the laboratory door open so hard that it banged against the wall and rebounded. "Hello?" he nearly shouted. His chest rose and fell in a quickened rhythm, and from the sweat glistening on his forehead, it appeared that he'd been running. "Anybody here?"

"My, my, my... Would you please be kind to our doors? We do have some very delicate machinery around here that doesn't do too well when rattled." A male voice rang out, the tone not all very deep. Of course, Belsavis could look all around the room and not find a single man, a single boy, or anything of that sort in between. All that was standing in the room was Sparky, the bright yellow, rodent-like Pokemon, who had just walked in from an adjoining room. Since Maevia should have been back by now, but wasn't, the Pikachu had been very busy. He had to keep on top of all of her work as well as his own so that they didn't fall behind. This, for him, meant all kinds of task and less sleep than he should have been getting. His table may have been removed from the laboratory, but that didn't prevent the clutter of his empty coffee cups that were scattered around.
