Twisted awoke in a strange new forest starring at the night sky wondering when he was moved. He very well knew the forests around his home, and this was a strange and foreign one. He stood up wondering whom and how they managed to move him with out his knowledge. Either way, it was too late to ask why and decided to go on his way. He noticed a small flickering light in the distance, maybe the source could have an owner who could clarify where he was. He set off in the direction knowing who ever was there would not like being disturbed at such a late hour.

He finally arrived at the source of the light, which, to his surprise, looked like a Pokemon lab. It was very well kept and clean on the outside and looked friendly enough. He stepped through the door and peered inside.

When Twisted opened the door to the laboratory, there was already a Gardevoir standing in the room adorned with a purple and white polka-dotted sleeping cap, currently yawning and holding one of her hands up to her mouth. Maevia, though the young man didn't know it, was fully capble of sensing when anyone began to draw near. His coming had woken her up from her sleep and she didn't have much time to get herself in proper order before he already barged in. Strolling in from another doorway that connected the main room to another, a Pikachu in a sleeping cap shaped like a Magikarp, the mouth of the fish being the opening that sat on his head covering only one ear, appeared. As odd as it may have seemed, the mouse Pokemon was holding a small blue coffee mug. It sipped at the coffee it contained casually, before eying the stanger that had just entered with wide eyes, as if he hadn't had much sleep as of late. "What in Latios' name are you doing here at this time of night?" It asked, his voice sounding worse than he looked on terms of tiredness. In fact, there was a slight tone of annoyance in his voice. "Sparky, be polite," the psychic Pokemon scolded him in a fairly tried tone, herself. "I'm sorry," she said, looking at Twisted with an apologetic smile. "I'm afraid Sparky and I were both asleep. My name is Maevia. Welcome to my laboratory." "You were the only one actually asleep..." Sparky grumbled, mostly to himself, taking another sip from his coffee mug.

"Oh, uhm, hello," he hadn't quite expected to be greeted by Pokemon. The fact they could talk and he understood was not a shocker, but seeing them act like they lived and ran the place did. "I'm terribly sorry for disturbing you at this hour. I awoke in this new forest and sighted this lab from the distance. Is there anyway possible of being told where I am?" He was amused at seeing the Magikarp cap on the Pikachu. It's quite the interesting sight seeing a Pokemon, let alone a Pikachu, drinking coffee.
"Might I ask why you weren't asleep?" he questioned while looking at the Pikachu. He then returned his attention to both of them. "So this is your laboratory, I must say it looks like its in top condition."

"Forgiven and forgotten," Maevia chimmed in as the young man aplogized, seeming to have become a little more awake in the last few moments. Perhaps scolding her companion had something to do with that...? Either way, she managed to smile in her usual kind manner. "You have found yourself in Mystic Forest, of the Trilotics region," she said, again, having to relay this news. It was becoming quite natural to answer the question, as she was typically asked the same questions every time. It made answering easier and easier. Sparky's ears twitched, even though only one could be seen, when the guest asked him why he hand't slept. "Oh, I'll tell you why..." He began, but was cut off by a, "Bloop, bloop-dee-doop." At that instant, a Igglybuff and popped up behind the mouse Pokemon, yanked off his sleeping cap and began to wiggle his ears up and down, giggling and chittering, "Bloop, bloop, bloop," over and over again, each time his ears went all the way up and all the way down. Sparky seemed terribly displeased by this and got a very unpleasent frown. He put up with the Igglybuff for a short while before snapping at it suddenly, "Would you please stop that!" It wasn't a question a request, rather, it sounded like a demand. He pulled away from the tiny balloon Pokemon in that insant, looking at Twisted when he was free. "As you can see, this... thing... rarely lets me get any sleep. She giggles and talks and even sings her silly songs in her sleep!" The Igglybuff only titled its head to the side, which was essentially her entire body. She blinked with innocent eyes and smiled a goofy smile. While the Pikachu found her such a nuisance, she appeared to be very sweet, if not just a little... odd. Maevia could only shake her head. "Please excuse them," she said, obviously used to the two acting as they were toward one another. "I'm afraid that little Igglybuff just doesn't like to stay in her pokeball and spends most of her time following Sparky around. I suppose it has gotten on his nerves by now," she explained. "You see, we give out Pokemon to new trainers here, and she is supposed to be one of them."

"Well, that Igglybuff sure is strange, but amusing." He wondered if there was something wrong with that particular Pokemon, but decided not to persue it further.
He turned back to the Pikachu,"Well I see why your loosing sleep, but it can't be that bad."
Twisted focused his attention back to the Gardevoir, "So people come here to start their lives as trainers. May I inquire about doing so? I have always wanted to do so since I worked at my family's festival".
He then rememeber he had never introduced himself and felt quite stupid for barging in. "Hello, my name is Twist of Fate and I came from the Kanto region!" He quickly bowed his head and managed to fall over and began getting flustered at his mistakes.

Sparky only shook his head, disagreeing with the young man's assumption. Oh, it wasn't that bad, was it? Well, he had no idea. That blasted Igglybuff even slept with a nightlight on every night, and she wasn't even afraid of the dark! Worst thing ever? It was shaped like a Pikachu's head. A Pikachu's head! If that wasn't scary enough, he didn't know what was. Of course, he kept this all to himself, conent on sipping is warm coffee while he had the chance to do it without being clung to, his ears played with, or his tail pulled on. It was a nice little break, if anything.
Maevia, on the other hand, had given all of her attention to their guest, now that Sparky and the Igglybuff had calmed down, for the time being.
The psychic Pokemon began to chuckle softly, though she held her hand up to her mouth delicately again. "Oh, I beg your pardon!" she said, having stopped herself short. "I'm sorry, truly. Of course you may see our Pokemon. We have quite a wide selection, I must say. I'm very proud of it. Follow me, please."
Just as she said this, the Gardevoir lifted one of her hands out toward Twist of Fate and he would then find himself being lifted upright by her psychic powers. "You have a very peculiar name, I must say." Her words, by no means, sounded offensive.
Then she promptly found her way to a machine near the back of the room, which she turned on and brought up a list of all the Pokemon that they had available in the lab. "They're all there," she said.
Meanwhile, the Igglybuff had taken up a different tatic to entertain itself - playing with maraca and a tambourine. She banged the blue, orange and green maraca against the tambourine, laughing in glee and marching circles around the electric Pokemon as both instuments sounded together.
The Pikachu nearly spilled his coffee when she drew close to him, squeaking slightly when she did. Oh how he hoped that this guy would want an Igglybuff.

The feeling of being listed upright by a psychic Pokemons power was strange but not all too unfamiliar to him. He followed after her and began to scan the list of Pokemon available. He could understand as to why the Pikachu was running from the Igglybuff but in a way he thought it was cute. "Well I believe I would like a Teddiursa if that is possible."

Maevia smiled. "What an interesting choice," she mused, a bit surprised that Twist of Fate was able to choose so quickly. "A Teddiursa it is then." The psychic Pokemon selected the choice and confirmed it, certain that it was his final choice and that she wouldn't need to double-check.
The Pikachu, however, wasn't so pleased with Twisted's choice. His ears drooped and he sighed. He really had been hoping that he would want an Igglybuff.
As the machine whizzed to life, lights flashing and all, Sparky set down his coffee mug - trying to ignore the obnoxious antics of the balloon Pokemon - and pulled out a bag from a box not all that far from the machine. He was too tired to properly carry it, so it dragged it across the floor and set it and the young man's feet. "There you are. It's your bag of stuff. Some Pokeballs, Potions, Pokedex... some basic survival gear, you get the idea," he said. "We give one to all new trainers."
The machine dispensed a Pokeball onto the surface of the machine. "There you are," Maevia said, picking up the Pokeball and offering it to Twisted. "There is one of our Teddiursa inside, though I can't tell you which one. It's a surprise, both to you and me."

He took the Pokeball from the Gardevoir excited that he would soon be facing his new companion.
"Oh, about my name, it's because my family are all gypsies. Weird and random names just seem to, you know, be our thing."He looked down at the bag the Pikachu had just fetched him, he felt sorry knowing that the poor thing was tired. "Thank you very much, I am terribly sorry to be here at night." He thanked them and turned to walk away.

Sparky was about to wave and Maevia wish him well, but the electric Pokemon realized that Twisted forgot to grab his bag. "Wait!" he called "You forgot your bag." Instantly, Maevia waved her hand and the bag lifted up off the ground, floating toward the new trainer. The Pikachu made a face, wondering why she couldn't just always do that rather than having him haul a satchel around that was just about as big as he was.
Unfortunately for Sparky, he was too busy with these thoughts that he forgot all about the Igglybuff for that instant, which seemed rather amazing considering the ruckus that she made. With his guard down, the little Igglybuff tossed her instruments to the side, squished him in a hug, and promptly grabbed Sparky's paws and started twirling around with him in circles.
When the Pikachu gained his barrings and stopped the two of them mid-spin, she said, in quite the high-pitched voice, "Yannnnoooo~ I made that coffee for you~!" The look on Sparky's face was one of absolute horror, even including the silent scream.
"Ah, hey, Twist of Fate!" he shouted. "I think you should take this Igglybuff with you! Yanno, I think she would be better off traveling than being stuck here... No one else seemed to want an Igglybuff. We're afraid she wont get adopted." As he spoke, his words spewing out of his mouth quickly, he was already shoving the pink little Pokemon toward the trainer, as if he wasn't going to accept 'no' for the answer.
The Igglybuff only continued to wear its gleeful smile, not realizing one bit that Sparky was trying to get rid of her on purpose.
"Now Sparky..." The professor began to interject, only to be cut off by the Pikachu before she could go on. "You said it yourself, Maevia. No one seems to want an Igglybuff and she's going to go nuts if she stays cooped up in the lab any longer. She can't stand her pokeball as it is!"
Maevia sighed. "I suppose its alright then, but I haven't the slightest clue where she stashed her pokeball... Would you mind taking her? She wont have her pokeball yet, but I can send it to you when you reach the Pokemon Center in Ruelda Town, just outside of the forest."

When Sparky called after him, he stopped and grabbed the bag. He often took off with out double checking anything, he was always ahead of himself and thinking way off in the clouds.
"Thank you, that would have been a big mistake and unfortunate circumstance later." He starred as the Pikachu stopped the spin and began shoving it after him. He had a small look of grimace but then thought the Igglybuff would be an amusing companion to have for those dull moments. He gladly accepted the Pokemon and held it in his arms and walked out the front door. He was excited for the new adventures he would have in this new region.
