When will the fanasty end? When will the heaven begin?
Name: Maze
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Age: 26
Personality:
Maze tends to keep his emotions guarded from the common mass. The past leaves scars, and those are a constant reminder of his reluctance to trust in others. Once he has lost trust in someone it never comes back. Although hard earned Maze is very dedicated to those who earn his loyalty.
While he generally does a good job of keeping his temper down there are certain things that will trigger it. When working with a Pokemon Maze is very agressive with the training, some might even object, but he finds it efficient and always earns the trust of his Pokemon.
Sometimes Maze can be hard to understand, picking his words carefully to maintain a sense of mystery. Unless he's in some hurry he will never come straight out and say what's on his mind. Due to past experience he has grown a bias against pokemorphs, and is unable to be around them for long.
Appearance:
Much of Maze's appearance is reflective of his enigmatic personality. While he would be considered attractive by many standards the lack of emotion that plagues his face greatly affects how people perceive him.
His eyes are a deep blue, the kind of blue that one could get lost in if given the opportunity. Shaggy brown hair covers the top of his head, bangs resting just above the eyebrow out of his eyes. When given a mirror and comb Maze can make himself look very presentable and dignified, however he tends to keep it in a tangled mess under a hood.
Maze isn't a very daunting figure, standing only a little over six foot. Although he wouldn't consider himself muscular he did consider himself athletic. Often Maze would jump into a battle between his Pokemon for good exercise.
History:
Maze was born and raised in Goldenrod City. Although he never took the official challenge in Johto often he would skip class to go train at the local gym. Without siblings and with his parents constantly working Maze spent the majority of time with his Pokemon. Slowly, after many long days and nights, he crafted his own training techniques. These techniques involved pushing the Pokemon to the most of its ability, often straining it mentally and physically. Although he has trained many Pokemon successfully using these methods there have been the occasional few that just couldn't perform to the standards. Maze saw to it that these Pokemon were returned to the wild. It would be dramatic to call it abuse but he definitely pushes them.
As his life in Johto slowly crawled by he grew restless with the region. Maze felt a desperate need for a change of pace, that's when he learned of the Lucin region. It was no surprise to anyone when he told his parents his plan. He planned on going to this new region and completing the gym challenge there, seeing as he never had the opportunity in Johto. The goodbyes exchanged between Maze and his parents was rather emotionless, they had never been a close family.
Upon his arrival Maze found himself completely lost, no familiar face, no familiar place. After a rough start it was only him and his Pokemon until he befriended a fellow trainer. The two traveled through the Lucin Region, just adventuring more than anything. Soon months passed and they had hardly made any progress on their badges. Buckling down and plowing right through they began to make considerable progress, but it didn't last long. The region fell into distress after a criminal syndicate arrived and rooted themselves in. Soon the gyms became inoperable as some leaders went missing and others into hiding.
Matius, the trainer Maze had befriended, saw this as an opportunity for them to rise to fame. If they could beat the syndicate and restore the region to its former prosperity then they would be heroes. Maze, however, didn't agree and planned on leaving the region as soon as he could. Maze urged the other trainer to follow his steps so that they could continue their adventure together, but he would have none it. So the two split ways.
The next region Maze went to was the Aurora Region, the region in which he first encountered Pokemorphs. The region was run down and the Pokemorphs treated oppressively. Although he had wanted to leave Maze found it difficult to find a way out of this place, and getting there had been so easy. After a few weeks of being in Aurora he had completely lost all hope of leaving. The entire region was poverty stricken and crumbling apart. There was even a rumor of the Pokemorphs staging a revolution, although that sounded little more than wishful thinking.
Aimlessly wandering the alleys of a large city, ravenous with hunger, Maze met a girl named Hails. She had the most illuminating eyes he'd ever seen and snow white hair. She could obviously tell he was in trouble so she offered him some help. She was a member of a gang, they were a mix of both human and pokemorph, that she assured would help. The gang turned out to be more reluctant to help and tension flared. The event came to a climax when a fight broke out between Maze and a Machoke pokemorph; the only thing Maze remembers is waking up weeks later in an unfamiliar setting. Apparently the girl Hails had convinced the rest to let him stay. A few of the others never forgave her for that; their resentment towards humans was too strong.
Altough being in a gang had never been on Maze's "to do list" they kept him alive so he was thankful. Besides being in the game meant being close to Hails, whom he had taken a liking to. After several months tension rose in the gang again as it became devided between the humans and pokemorphs. Once again Maze found himself in heated arguement with the machoke pokemorph, an arguement that was only escalating. Just before blows were about to be exchanged Hails came in; a psychic barrier suddenly seperating the two.
She revealed herself to be a pokemorph, although baring no visible physical characteristics. She tried to reconcile the two sides to no avail. Maze was furious she hadn't told him, especially after they had spent so much time together. The gang began its rapid decay after that, and eventually split up each species going there own way. Hails tried to apologize to Maze but it was too late, he refused to accept it. His trust had been damaged and now any relationship with her seemed unsalvagable. Instead of staying with the human gang Maze once again set out on his own. He planned on returning to Johto, maybe picking up some of his old pokemon.
Maze was last spotted on board a ship traveling to Johto, but he never made it.
[[Not the most pleased with this but it'll do for now. I'll more than likely add to the history to enhance its depth.]]
