(OOC: Made a new topic for a little scenery change, if that's fine.) It was nighttime in the forest and not a single soul was in sight. Rizen and his Pokemon were still on the move, trying to find a good place to rest. The Pokemorph was holding a burning branch, which had been ignited by a quick jolt from Voltage, and lit the way through the woods. "Can we stop somewhere?" Voltage complained. "My feet are killing me! And I'm kinda hungry too!" "Same here," groaned Thorn, the oddly colored Shroomish. "I could really use some berries to eat..." "Don't worry," Rizen sighed. "We'll find some place to stay soon." He had no idea what time it was, and although the boy wasn't feeling tired quite yet, his Pokemon were, and if something attacked them, they'd be too exhausted to fight.

As Rizen and his Pokemon walked through the woods, his Totodile, Corinth, suddenly ran ahead, sniffing the air. Corinth's eyes were wide with excitement, and he began making a little panting sound. This could only mean one thing...food was nearby.
"What do you smell?" Rizen asked Corinth. The Totodile, who did not seem able to speak, clacked his jaws several times and suddenly dashed to Rizen's right. "Wait, Corinth!" Rizen ran after his Pokemon, with the five others following him.

A berry hunter, Corinth could be. He was headed right for a small berry patch that managed to grow despite all of the shade that the trees of the forest provided. While all of the berries were edible, very few of them seemed to cause any special effects. Even so, the find would be a great place to rest and serve as a tasty lunch for the entire group. Maybe, upon searching, more useful berries could be found.

In the distance, Rizen could hear Corinth letting out a few happy little cries. Looks like he did smell something, the boy thought to himself. After pushing through several masses of branches and leaves, he saw the Totodile standing in front of a berry bush, already grabbing a few of the berries to munch on.
"Hey!" whined Voltage, Rizen's Shinx. "Save some for us!" Voltage bounded ahead, with Thorn the Shroomish close behind. The rest of the Pokemon followed. Rizen took a closer look at the bush as his Pokemon started to pick the berries. Rizen had a little knowledge of berries from living in Hoenn, where the small fruits were often used to create treats called Pokeblocks. He wondered if he could find any berries useful for battle and began poking through another bush nearby.

Much to the luck of Rizen's party, there was more than enough berries to go around. The only fight-causing possibility, really, was who got the bigger or more colorful berries. It wasn't all that big of a deal, though. As Rizen hunted for more useful berries, it seemed that luck was currently with him, also. Despite the appearance that none of these berries were to be found, one lone round, blue berry stuck out among the leaves and branches, closer to the middle of the bush. It wouldn't be easy to acquire, which was probably why it was the only one in sight.

After a few moments of digging through the bush, Rizen finally spotted one round, blue colored Berry. It was closer to the center of the bush, so it took some wriggling of his arm and leaning forwards to get to it. He finally obtained it though, and grasping it firmly, Rizen plucked the berry from the bush. He turned it around, examining it for any blemishes. He knew this type of berry well. It was an Oran Berry, which were quite common back in Hoenn, and he knew they could be used for some quick first aid. It seemed fresh, so he placed it gently in his satchel to save for later. He didn't see any other useful looking berries in the bush, however, so he returned to his feasting Pokemon.
As Rizen expected, Corinth had gobbled up most of the berries, which left colorful stains all over the Totodile's mouth. Voltage was also chomping down on some berries hungrily, while the rest of his Pokemon were eating more slowly. Wisp, his Fairy Vulpix, seemed rather disgusted at Corinth and Voltage's behavior, and was sitting some distance away, nibbling on a berry of her own.
Rizen was hungry too, but he wasn't sure if he could eat these berries without washing them first. If Corinth knew Water Gun, he could have asked the Totodile to wash them. Something was better than nothing, though. So he plucked a handful of berries and started eating, sitting down next to Wisp. They tasted good enough, at least.

As the group munched away, they were likely too busy to notice that one of the berry bushes, namely the one that held the Oran Berry, began to wiggle. This proceeded for a few moments before a small pink and cream head popped out of the bush. The Wurmple eyed the trainer and the gathering of Pokemon, but didn't appear to be afraid. It sniffed at the air before wiggling its way out, accidentally tumbling out, rather, and bumping into Rizen. It let out an "Oof," upon impact.

Rizen was popping another berry into his mouth when he felt something hit his leg. He blinked, and gazed down in the direction of the impact to see a tiny, pink and cream insect next to him. Ah, he knew what this critter was. It was a Wurmple, a species that was quite abundant in Hoenn.
"Sorry," he apologized to the Wurmple. "Are you all right?"
None of his Pokemon seemed to hear him, that is, except for Wisp. The Fairy Vulpix tilted her head at Rizen and then stared down at his leg, finally seeing the Bug Pokemon.
"Ugh!" she screeched, dropping the berry she was holding. Wisp backed up a few steps, fur bristling. "A Bug Pokemon! Get it away from me!" Now that caught everyone's attention. The rest of Rizen's Pokemon dropped their berries and walked over, blinking at the Wurmple.
"Don't be rude," Rizen scolded Wisp, glaring at her. Wisp simply glared back. The Pokemorph rolled his eyes and looked down at the Wurmple again. "Are you all right?" he repeated. "Don't mind Wisp."

The little bug Pokemon was dazed for a moment, but managed to shake it off in time to make some sense of Rizen's question. However, when it opened its mouth to reply, it was cut off by a terrible screeching, which had it jumping back in a fearful manner. The Wurmple, after composing itself once again, offered Wisp an annoyed look. After puffing out its chest a bit, it made its own comment right on back, "Well, excuse me that we can't all be cotton candy puffballs!" The Wurmple, usually a very friendly Pokemon, hated nothing more than rude, snobby Pokemon, which it had quickly labled the Fairy Vulpix to be.
After staring the Vulpix down for a moment longer, its big eyes went back to Rizen and it nodded its head. "Yes, I'm fine. I was just looking for some lunch, too." It had actually been saving the oren berry that the trainer had gathered, but it didn't want to seem rude to him, too.

Wisp's mouth formed a perfect little "o" as the Wurmple's retort hit her. "Why-" she growled, glaring at the bug. "I never! You..!" But before the Vulpix could say any more, Rose walked over and slapped one mint green hand over Wisp's mouth. Wisp's words became nothing more than indecipherable mumbles, and Rizen gave his Treecko a nod of thanks.
"Lunch?" Rizen repeated. "Well there are still lots of berries around here. I could make sure a few are saved for you, if you'd like. Or you can have mine." He gestured towards the small pile of uneaten berries in his hand.

The Wurmple eyed the berries in Rizen's hand for a moment, but shook its head to decline the offer. "No, no. I would feel awful for taking the berries that you already collected. If you're in this forest, you must be hungry, too. Thank you for the offer, though." The Bug Pokemon settled itself in near one of the bushes and snatched a berry up with its small hands. Between chewed bites, it looked around at the trainer and his group of Pokemon. With Wisp previous restrained, it was fine without retorting. "How long have you been out here?" It finally asked, its eyes returning to the Pokemorph.
