The Legendary Pokemon, Articuno, stood on a boulder near the base of one of the many mountains near the center of the Norokai Island. The stone and the area around it had frosted over, even including some of the leaves on the nearby trees. With its presence, the air all around the ice Pokemon was several degrees colder than it should have been naturally. Wordlessly, it awaited trainers that it had summoned to the island. That is, if any of them made the decision to actually show up. There was the chance that they merely thought the letter to be a hoax, but shouldn't have they all learned by now that mysterious letters that appear out of nowhere really do come from someone? And, usually, those letters are direly important. Information: Each user may have one of their trainers enter this event, so long as said trainer has already received their first Pokemon and left the Mystic Laboratory. Anyone may join in on the event at any time during the sign up time, however, they may only be in one event roleplay at once and everyone must roleplay with at least one partner. Everyone needs to at least pair up, but there is no limit to how many trainers are in one roleplay. If you want to have more partners, then go on ahead. No particular posting order has to be made, but users are welcome to do so, if they wish. In order to join, each user must post with the trainer they intend to use here in order to receive their instructions and pair up. Once dismissed in roleplay, a user must post their own roleplay here in Norokai, including "[Event]" in the title. Without the event tag line, the roleplay will not be considered part of the event. And, no, I will not explain what it is everyone is here for. The Articuno will do that all on its own once sign ups are closed. The event does not have an end date. The event will end when all of my unspoken criteria are met. That means that this event may be long or short, depending on how fast or slow things go. Also note, this event is based on a roll for each trainer that occurs when that trainer has made a certain number of posts. No, that number will not be stated, but it is no more than ten posts and no less than three. Participating Trainers: Sleet (Elektra) Sheba (Sheba) Dana (GrayGriffin) Jessari (Jessari) Rizen (Thunder) Adian (Julia) Mai (Taya) Twisted (Twist of Fate) Sign-ups are now closed!

Sleet looked around, the hair on her arms standing up. Of course, she didn't really notice because she had spent most of her childhood in such a climate, but her Pokemon did. At least, Quinlan and Squirt did. The Spinda and Dewgong actually seemed to like the change in temperature, and were wandering everywhere around her, making it hard for her to focus and find where she was supposed to be going. A few days ago, she had found a letter in her knapsack, one that she was certain hadn't been in there before. Of course, if it had been a few days earlier, she probably would've wondered where such a letter had come from, especially considering the message it held, but lately, she'd found two Pokeballs with Pokemon in them that she knew for a fact she hadn't caught and encountered an insane Koffing, so such a letter didn't really catch her off guard. Even so, it's message certainly did cause her to feel that she needed to go. And yet, now that she was here, it seemed that she was the only one. Perhaps others had chosen to ignore the letter, and if that was the case, she wasn't quite sure what she could do on her own. But even so, she continued on, hoping that the author of the letter would help her find her way, as they had said they would, since she couldn't seem to do that on her own. It seemed that as she moved closer to the mountain base, it seemed to get even closer. When she was about a three yards away, a blue creature came into view. And then it suddenly began to add up. Temperatures lower than normal, and a mysterious letter like the one I received before I was whisked away to this place? Sleet thought. Of course. Running up, she stopped about a yard away. "Lord Articuno," she said, bowing. "I received your letter, and have come here to assist you. Just tell me what I need to do."

Sheba had made her way to Norokai as well, following the mysterious letter. Since the last one had taken her from home and the next one had been from a legendary Pokémon, too, there was no question for her that this one was from one, too. The thing was that it was cold. All her Pokémon but Delos, who was shivering in her arms, but determined to stay outside, had retreated into their Pokéballs. Sheba was, in her dress, freezing, too, and hugged Delos to keep herself warm. The reason why things were all frozen came into view when Sheba had followed the increasingly icy track some time: Articuno. " Oh my god...", she mumbled. A legendary Pokémon, just sitting there. Delos made an agreeing noise, but kept quiet. Sheba slowly walked - more like 'slipped' - up to Articuno and indicated a bow that Delos repeated in her arms. " G-great Articuno", Sheba addressed the Pokémon with chattering teeth, " h-have you c-called me here? H-how can I be o-of assistance?"

"This place is freezing!" complained Dana. "Are you sure we were meant to come here?" Her other Pokemon had retreated intot heir Pokeballs, Mumble being the only one who claimed to be comfortable with the cold temperatures. Finally, she saw the figures up ahead. They seemed to be gathered around a large bird of some sort...it seemed to be radiating cold. "What matter of creature are you? Can't you make it any less colder?" she muttered, even as she approached it. Mumble's eyes widened in horror. "Girl! Do you know who you are speaking to? One of the legendary Pokemon of ice, Articuno!" He wriggled out of her arms, and bowed deeply. Dana frowned, but then she bowed as well. "I apologize for my rudeness," she said. "I was not aware of your status. Please tell us, what have you called us here for?"

Jessari shivered as she moved closer to the base of the mountain. The pack Sparky had given her had been full of helpful things, but warmer clothing hadn't been on the list. Why would it, after all? When she'd started out, the weather had felt like summer. But the more she walked, the colder it got. It was almost like walking into winter, and Jess wandered idly if she'd been pulled into Narnia or something. After what she'd been through, she no longer scoffed at the thought of alternate worlds. If the Trilotics region existed, why not Narnia, or Middle Earth, or a thousand other places believed to be myths? If she was smart, she knew, she'd turn around and return to warmer weather, but the mysterious letter had piqued her curiosity. Up ahead, she saw several forms. Two were human, and the rest, well, she figured all the rest were Pokemon. Dimka, who had styled himself as both her protector and her Pokemon tutor, was currently hiding from the weather in his pokeball, so she couldn't exactly ask him about the species of Pokemon that had gathered. Something she could figure out on her own was the importance of the large, blue bird on top of the rock. She could tell by the way the trainers' attentions were focused upon it. As she neared, she heard one of the trainers address it as Articuno. That was one mystery out of the way. Also, judging from the intense chill in the air and the way the ice seemed to radiate out in all directions from the bird, she figured that it was one of the Ice type pokemon Dimka had spoken of. Second mystery solved. As for the third... "I received a letter too," she said quietly, stepping forward until she was almost in line with the other trainers. Jess hated to be the center of attention, so she was grateful that she hadn't been the first to arrive. "I'll help if I'm able."

A few days ago, Rizen had received another strange letter, not too unlike the one he got before getting thrown into Trilotics. However, this letter was different in that it seemed to be asking for help. So Rizen went to Norokai Island, wondering who could be asking for such help, and he was surprised to find that he instinctively knew where to go, even though he never went to this island before. As he walked, Rizen felt a sudden drop in temperature that he could not explain. His Treecko, Rose, also felt this, and shivered from the cold. Rizen bent down to pick Rose up, hugging her close to his chest to keep her warm. Soon, he came across what seemed to be the base of a mountain range, and standing on a nearby boulder was a huge, blue bird Pokemon. Some other trainers were also standing nearby, the largest amount of people he had ever seen in Trilotics. "Wha-" he gasped. Rose, who was usually not surprised by anything, also seemed shocked at the legendary bird's presence. "That is...Articuno," Rose whispered. Although Rizen was from Hoenn, he had heard tales about the Legendary Birds of Kanto from travelers. "Articuno..." Rizen's eyes locked onto the bird's. "Was that note from you? What am I here for?"

Count on Adian to show up late. He was famous for it, in fact. His parents had always told him it was a character flaw, but Adian pushed it aside. It never seemed like anything worth caring about. That was, until now. By the time Adian had made it up the slope, he realized that being late was not a good thing. There was already a small group of trainers forming around a large frozen area.
As Adian got closer he saw what everyone was looking at. A large blue bird-like pokemon stood perched at the top. It looked noble. Perhaps that was what had called Adian here. It would make sense, considering how odd this whole place was. Adian looked over the pokemon but couldn't quite but a name to the face. He knew it was one of the rarer pokemon in the region, but he felt as if questioning who or what it was, would be a bad idea.
Making his way to the front of the crowd, Adian tipped his head down in a show of respect. "Oh great one. I've come here as you've asked, to do your bidding." Adian rambled, hoping that this was the right thing to be grovelling to.

Just as had happened before, a mysterious letter appeared before Mai. She had actually discovered it among the bag that she had received from Maevia but she knew that it wasn't from the professor, having not seen it before when she had originally sorted through her things. She soon discovered, though, that the letter held a different matter than it did once before. Instead, this time, it was a request for help, and who was she to deny such a request? She traveled to Norokai and, though she had never once stepped for there before, she knew just which way to go. The letter had said something like that would have happened, but it was still rather amazing that it held true. Currently, her entire team of Pokemon, which only consisted of three, were held within their Pokeballs, a place much warmer than the outside world with the chilled air. It grew colder and colder as she walked deeper and deeper into the island, but the inner flame that burned within her, much thanks to her Acanine genetics, made her at ease. She barely felt the cold, unlike the other unfortunate guests. When Mai arrived at the base of the mountain, she discovered a great number of trainers already gathered. She had been aware that there were obviously other trainers around, but she had yet to see so many gathered together at once, even if the number didn't seem all that grand. What really caught her attention was the Articuno, the Legendary bird Pokemon had come from her home region, which amazed her even more. "I, too, am here to serve you," she spoke, stepping up among the rest of the trainers. The fact that some of them were also Pokemorphs eased her mind quite a bit. Were they a common thing here? In her region, they were very rare and, because of that, her family was incredibly ashamed of her.

What a strange sight to any who would come across the peculiar group; a masked trainer wandering in and out of trees and through brush seemingly lost but at the same time a clue or a hint of knowing residing within him. Just as the letter had said, he knew his way through the island he had never visited. Like the trainer the small band of Pokemon behind him were an odd bunch. Directly behind him were four Pokemon grasping a rope that was tied to his wrist. At the front of the line was an Igglybuff shouting motherly advise to the remaining ones who seemed to be quite annoyed by this, considering they didn't like being treated like children. "All right! Everyone make sure you hold onto the rope securely at all times. We cannot get lost or separated. Do I need me to go over the instructions again?"At this point the vampiric Eevee spat out the rope from its tiny fanged mouth. "Could you please just shut up! For this entire trip since we got on this island you have been instructing us and treating us like children. I don't think anyone here can take anymore. In fact, I'm pretty sure the Teddiursa doesn't like you. He traded me spots to get to the back and as far away from you as possible."Suddenly Yumi, the Igglybuff, jumped onto the back of the fairy Vulpix and tossed her tambourine at the Eevee. "Well excuse me for caring for our safety!" The tambourine managed to hit the top of the Eevee's head, bounce off of it and land in front of the Teddiursa. The only reaction during this entire time from the small bear Pokemon was lifting his foot and putting it through the tambourine. Chuckling to himself, Twisted finally spoke up, "Okay everyone, Yumi is just trying to keep everyone safe. It's a little to endure but its for your own sake. Yumi, come on back to the front and leave the others in peace. We will talk once we find out what this is all about." Soon after the Igglybuff had resumed her position, they continued on their trek and noticed a break in the treeline ahead. Twisted ignored the chill that increased as they neared the break.

The Legendary bird Pokemon waited in silence, giving the trainers time enough to gather. A fair number of trainers arrived and, with as urgent as the task was, its patience had finally dissipated. However, with the trainers growing so close, they would probably come to realize that the Articuno still seemed fairly young, not yet entirely full grown, its features still making it appear as a bit of an adolescent.
"I thank you all for gathering," it finally called out, the voice sounding feminine enough that its gender was clear. "It was I sent out the letters to all of you this time." Just after speaking, she flapped her wings, and much of the cold and ice began to reseed, though not all of it. Many of the trainers lacked the ability to stay warm and, hopefully, this would make it easier for the lot of them. "I have a task that I cannot complete on my own, a task that can only be tended to with the help of trainers, like yourself. Regardless of your experience or lack of it as trainers, I have faith in all of you." Its eyes shifted among all of the trainers, stressing her point.
"But I shall explain. As you can see, I am still young compared to many of the other Legendary Pokemon. That is because I am... a clone Pokemon. I came from another region where there was a great darkness. The side overcome by evil began to clone Legendary Pokemon in hopes to use us as weapons. As an egg, however, I had been stolen and taken care of by a kind-hearted trainer. When I finally hatched, I soon took my vengeance and stole the two remaining clone eggs, the eggs of my would-be siblings, Moltres and Zapdos. My siblings cannot hatch from their eggs without the care of a trainer. And, thus, I am seeking all of your help. Their eggs are hidden somewhere upon this mountain," she gestured with one of her wings behind her. "Though the journey may prove difficult, I am counting on the lot of you in order to find them and take care of them. However, it is wise that you do not travel alone. This task may be too much for any single person, so I ask that you go together, at least in pairs, for your safety. It would be horrifying if something bad was to happen just because you were alone."

"Teams, eh?" muttered Dana. She had to admit, she did not like working with others at all. Still, this place did seem quite dangerous. With a sigh, she strolled over to the closest trainer, Sheba.
"Hey, you want to team up for this?" she asked.
"We could handle it ourselves..." muttered Mumble, mirroring her thoughts. "But if a legendary asks it..."

Sheba's head was still spinning. Caring for a legendary Pokémon egg? That was pretty much crazy. She was a trainer only since a few days and was supposed to do something like that already?
"Sheba." Delos nudged her and looked up at the girl who had approached them.
"Oh!" Sheba smiled at the girl. "Teaming up? Yes, sounds good!" Finding a partner so quickly was clearly lucky. Still, she wondered if two people would really be enough. "Maybe we should see if we can find another person? This seems like a big task." At least it was warmer now, so staying for a few more minutes wasn't that bad anymore.

Realizing what Articuno had in store for them made Sleet stop thinking all together for a second. It was such a big job, and for a newly made trainer? Sure, she'd been through various gym circuits in other regions before, but... She'd just gotten dropped into this world with hardly any warning, and now this? But for Articuno, she'd do just about anything.
Looking around, she spotted to other girls talking, and figured that asking them to partner up with her was worth a try. Folding back her ears as best she could - and that wasn't very helpful to be honest - she made her way over.
"Hi. So, would you mind if I joined in with you guys? I'm Sleet." she said, sticking out her hand.

Sheba blinked. That was...fast. Was she popular or something? People were suddenly flocking to her. That had never happened before. Well, she was holding a shiny Pokémon. Maybe it was Delos? Who knew?
"Hi, I'm Sheba." She shook Sleet's hand, trying hard to ignore that the girl was obviously into dressing up as a Pokémon or something. It looked pretty real, though.
"I'm Delos, hello." The Ralts looked at Sleet curiously. "Hmm..." He had an idea what could be up with this new girl, but his trainer was obviously oblivious, so he would better be silent.
"Well, shall we...go then?" Sheba asked. Hopefully, they would manage this together.
